Scandalously famous Scottish cleric urged to pray that the four-year-old Prince George would turn out to be gay.

Kelvin Holdsworth, the provost of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow and a prominent LGBT activist, has urged believers to pray for Prince George – age 4, and third in line to the throne – to find the love of the “fine young gentleman” because cleric is confident that only this circumstance will force The Anglican Church equated a one-sex cohabitation with a marriage between a man and a woman.

In response, The Rev. Gavin Ashenden, a former royal chaplain, called the comments unchristian and unconstitutional: “To pray for Prince George to grow up in that way” to be in the way that would disable and undermine his constitutional and personal role, ” Today, an online news provider, particularly when part of the expectation that the prince would inherit would be “to produce a biological heir with a woman he loves.”

“It is an unkind and destabilizing prayer,” Mr. Ashenden continued. “It is the theological equivalent of the curse of the wicked fairy in one of the fairy tales.”

In the Anglican Church, The problem of the status of same-sex cohabitation is quite acute. The Christian community in Britain is divided into two parts: conservative and liberal. Recently, the Scottish Episcopal Church, a separate province of the Anglican Communion is allowed its priests solemnize the same-sex marriages. However, not all representatives of this Protestant denomination agree with this kind of treatment of canon law.

Beginning with King Henry VIII, it is the monarch who is the head of the Church of England, and this kind of blow is a clear pressure on Prince William, the father of the four-year-old George, and the entire royal family.

Cleric Kelvin Holdsworth has already appeared repeatedly in the center of loud scandals. So, in early 2017, the BBC reported that, in the Cathedral of St. Mary, he was permitted to read the Quran during the service that included a rebuttal of the Christian belief that Jesus was the son of God.
